Almost an RN...

June 6, 2008

Having finally graduated from nursing school on May 4th, 2008- all I have ahead of me is boards.  Studying everyday has become a requirement, and I am taking my test on June 17th, 2008... So wish me luck.  Despite that, the kids and I are still dog showing, and doing well.  We are also prepping for camp, which we leave for on July 12th. Devlin is going to be my primary working dog this year, as we still have a way to go to be a true team. Liz is going to be my back up, so he does not get too tired, and Lil will be working the elective. We are also excited because we get to see our friend Karen there, so it will be a blast all the way around!!!

And more WOW!!!!

December 5, 2007

Devlin was entered in his first AKC dog show in November. Once again going with the state of mind to train and tweek as needed.  Once again not needing to.  He Q'd in 5 of his 6 runs, with his two jumpers runs being the fastest of ALL the dogs there! His one NQ was minor, and he was such a  good boy, that I can't complain.  Then over Thanksgiving weekend, he was in an UKC trial, doing AGII for his first time... He finished his AGII title with a 200 and two 197s!  On to the UACH.  And to top this all off, that same weekend, he earned his first leg towards his CD!  He is such a good boy, and so much fun to run!  You will see us with the big wigs yet!

All I Can Say is WOW!!!

October 24, 2007

Devlin had his first outdoor dog show this past weekend at the ITZ NADAC trial.  i was not expecting much, and was planning to do a bunch of startline and contact training.  Well, it turns out that I did not need to.  Of 12 runs he qualified in 7, with either 1st or 2nd place!  His stays were perfect, his contacts were perfect, and he never even thought about leaving me.  In our regular classes, he nailed all his weave poles perfectly, and only had a bit of trouble in his weavers class on Saturday.  On Sunday, you would have never known that he just stared weaving upright poles 4 weeks ago.  I am so tickled pink, and I expect us to go big places together.  Now, we have our first AKC trial in 3 weeks... I will be sure to let everyone know how we did!

Devlin's Becoming a Show Dog

September 30, 2007

In just a couple short weeks, Devlin is going to be entered in his very first outdoor agility trial.  I am very excited, as his training is going so well.  AND we just had a great breakthrough in our weave pole training, to where we are finally weaving 6 poles, upright.  I am hoping to have us up to twelve in no time at all.  He only has a couple shows this fall, as his baby sister is going out to start showing in breed, but we are going to work on some obedience while we are doing that.  He needs 2 more legs to finish his RN, and we are ready for novice obedience finally.  We are hoping for a very productive fall/winter, and then I want to enter him at the IKC, since Liz and Lil are going to be there too!  He is such a great boy, and just so much fun to work!  I have high hopes for him!

Camp!!

July 31, 2007

I know that I have talked about it before, but I just got back from my annual trip to the C Spot Win camp in Colorado!  I can not praise the camp and all the instructors and workers high enough.  I came home with more information then my little brain can handle.  I have all these great ideas for how to work with my puppy, and have received some terrific info on how to correct the mistakes that I have made with Liz.  My first trial after I got back, not only did Liz finish 3 titles, but we have a great start on fixing our stay at the start, and we did not miss a single contact!  I can't wait to go back next year and work the little one!

Devlin's 1st Agility Title!!

July 18, 2007

We have been using UKC shows for training, but Devlin has been so good, that he has also finished his 1st agility title!  He is now UAGI Rav'nLeigh's Seize the Day.  And it was not like we muddled through it, he earned a 200 with a time of 42 seconds and the SCT was 65!  No complaints from me!

Devlin's First Show

June 13, 2007

Well, Devlin was entered in his first agility trial last weekend.... And he did great!!! I was not going to qualify, but just for fun match and training type expereince, but he showed me what he was made of.  He earned 2 AGI legs with good scores of 198 and 196.  Perfect stay at the starts.  Fantastic contacts.  Good times.  If we keep it up, things will really come together!

CDX!!!!!!!!

March 28, 2007

Well, it took us almost 3 years to do it, but it is done. Lizzy earned her CDX in Louisville March 18th with a score of 193 and a first place win.  She also earned her second leg with a first place win!  To say that I am pleased, does not even begin to express how I really feel.  That same day she also earned her 2nd Novice Rally leg with a 98 and a 3rd place and her 8th MXJ leg with a 3rd place as well.  We had made a day trip to Kentucky for this show, so this made it more then worth it!

Weavin' Fool!

March 14, 2007

This past weekend, Lizzy felt that I could use a bit of happiness.  She went out and finished her Open Weavers title in NADAC (WV-O).  She did it in great form with a first place win, and quite a bit of speed.  She also earned legs in Elite Tunnelers, Jumpers and Regular, all with wins.  She is such a great girl!  Her son just socialized, which is about all he is good at right now... But we are ok with that!

And than it was DONE

February 10, 2007

Lizzy and I have finally finished our UACHX!!  It has been a long hard battle, but well worth it.  UKC agility is not Lizzy's cup of tea, as she prefers more space to run and play.  For more info check out: http://www.ukcdogs.com/agility.htm.  Since that title is out of the way, we get to spend more time working on other AKC and NADAC titles that we need!  (And don't tell Liz, but we are going to do some obedience to!)
